Britney Spears may be worth $60 million, but reports say it’s not going to last her very long now that she has complete financial freedom following the end of her conservatorship.

The pop star is allegedly blowing through her funds thanks to reckless spending, which is causing concern amongst her team, though there’s apparently little they can do to reign Britney in.

“She has no concept of money,” a source recently told Page Six. “For over a decade, other people were in charge of her bank accounts, and every purchase had to be reported to the court — even if it was just a pack of gum. But now, she’s on her own.”

Britney reportedly blew through the $12.5 million advance she got for her memoir, published in October.

Another source told the outlet that Britney’s team is “in a precarious position,” as they don’t want to “rock the boat and make her feel like she is in a conservatorship again” y expressing concern over her finances.

“It’s tricky,” they went on. “No one wants to be Jamie 2.0.”

Britney’s income sources are apparently limited, as the singer has revealed she has no plans to return to music to release new work let alone tour, even though it could be lucrative for the singer, whose many fans would love to see her perform live for the first time post-conservatorship.

The former Disney star apparently made $12 million from the controversial memoir she released last year. Though Britney has said she’d like to write a second book, recent reports suggest the money isn’t lasting her very long, perhaps explaining her willingness to put out another memoir quickly.

To add to her money problems, Britney was just ordered by a court to pay $2 million in her father Jamie Spears’ legal fees after suing him for allegedly mismanaging her money during the conservatorship, though Britney’s case was unsuccessful.

In addition to her ongoing legal challenges against her family, Britney also finds herself entangled in a divorce with Sam Asghari, who initiated the process in August, merely 14 months after their marriage began.

Apart from the expenses incurred in the legal proceedings, Sam reportedly wants a more favorable divorce settlement beyond their prenuptial agreement terms. There are claims suggesting he might resort to releasing the singer's private information if his demands are not met, although Asghari has refuted these allegations. If Britney’s money problems are true, there may not be a lot of her fortune left for Asghari to tap into.

Britney and Sam’s divorce remains ongoing.
