Elon Musk may currently be sitting as the world’s richest person, but that doesn’t mean he’s above avoiding child support.

According to his former partner Grimes, whom he shares three children with, Elon has been actively avoiding being served with paperwork to establish child support and custody.

According to Huffington Post, proof-of-service papers show that Grimes hired four people between October 12 to October 20 to try and serve Musk the paperwork. They made attempts at various locations he’s known to frequent, including X headquarters (formerly known as Twitter) headquarters in San Francisco and a Space X launch site in Texas.

Elon Musk Says He Won’t Leave His Companies To Any Of His 10 Children
He may be the richest man in the world, but his kids aren't getting a taste of his business empire.

Grimes, a Canadian musician, originally filed a petition to establish custody and child support in late September, but the case has been unable to move forward since Elon hasn’t been located to physically give the legal documents to.

It's unclear if Musk is financially supporting the three children he shares with Grimes, and if so, to what degree. It also hasn’t been disclosed how much she’s seeking in child support.

There have been reports that Elon’s intention is to keep the case in Texas, where child support is capped at $2,760 per month for three kids. With a net worth of $254 billion, such low child support payments seem shocking to many. For now, however, a court hasn’t made a decision on how much child support Musk will pay to Grimes.

Elon Musk and Grimes

In total, Musk has 12 children with three women, including twins with a Neuralink executive. The businessman previously revealed he was paying $20,000 a month in child support to his ex Justine Musk, whom he has 8 kids with. However, this admission came over a decade ago, shortly after they divorced. Elon’s wealth wasn’t nearly as high as it was now, so it’s expected these payments would be even higher considering his current net worth.

Elon and Justine’s kids are no longer minors, so he’s not legally responsible for them in a financial sense. It’s unclear to what degree he supports them. One of his oldest children, Vivian, publicly denounced him last year after revealing her gender transition, suggesting the billionaire has a tenuous relationship with some, if not all, of his adult children.

While Elon is the world’s richest person, he’s been facing financial fallout since taking over X, which has included a rebranding that’s been less-than-financially lucrative. However, if Grimes serves him with paperwork, he may be forking up even more money, at least in terms of child support.
