Kim previously said she was rethinking her relationship with Balenciaga after the brand's controversial photo shoot last year. She recently gave fans of glimpse of the aircraft on an episode of The Kardashians, helping viewers to understand why the jet is worth so much.
“I wanted it to feel like an extension of me and an extension of my home,” she explained in the episode.
“Usually, planes are dark with lighter leather. Mine — I had custom, all-light wood. I had a bathroom put in the front and a bathroom put in the back. Every seat has its own phone charger,” Kim said of her specific design choices.
One of the most expensive customizations she made included cashmere seats. During one part of the episode, Kim gets frustrated with her sister Kendall, who didn’t want to shower off her fresh spray tan before sitting in a cashmere seat.
Kim Kardashian “No, it’s a three-hour one, so I sit in it for three hours and then shower it off,” Kendall reasoned, to which Kim replied, “Have you seen the cashmere seats? You cannot get your spray tan on my cashmere seats.”
Cashmere is considered a luxury material due to its rarity and the intricate process involved in its production. Derived from the fine undercoat of specific breeds of goats, particularly the Kashmir goat, cashmere is scarce, and each goat produces a limited amount of this exceptionally soft and insulating fiber, making it a precious and expensive commodity in the world of textiles.
Kim later gave her sister a glimpse of how many good and beverage options she has on board.
“Let me know if you like any snacks because I have, like, waffles and I have a freezer so, like, I live it up on there,” Kim told Kendall, who proceeded to request pasta, though Kim told her no since they were on route to Italy in the episode.
Needless to say, Kim likes to travel in style whether she’s on the air or the ground.
